Clever

Armed with their mother’s magic gifts, Leonora and her eleven sisters are determined to open a portal and escape their father, a wicked king who has banished sorcery from his kingdom (except the kind that serves him). Without proper training however, the princesses’ task proves ruinous.

Henry, a guard magically bound to the king’s will, becomes the tragic victim of the sisters’ spellwork. Forever changed, his fate becomes entwined with Leonora’s and his loyalty to the king is shaken.

Together, Leonora, her sisters, and Henry must find a way to the lost queen’s realm before the king imprisons, sells, eats, or burns them alive.

“Clever” is a fantasy mashup of “The Frog Prince” and “The Twelve Dancing Princesses.

I write darkly whimsical, sometimes poignant fantasy and science-fiction stories. My characters are clever, engage regularly in witty banter, and can usually be persuaded to answer their calls to action.
